Release 1.6.000 introduces an important security change. The way that passwords are encrypted has been changed to a newer and more secure algorithm. When you upgrade to this release you might encounter some unexpected behaviour.
You have to run this SQL statement in your database to prepare for the new encrypted password values. It is simply extending the length of the already existing field. Make sure the table name matches yours.
ALTER TABLE `tcneo_users` CHANGE `password` `password` VARCHAR(255) CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci NULL DEFAULT NULL;
The old values
The old password values in your database will still work. The new decryption still validates them but they are not safe anymore. It is highly recommended to update the password (see below).
Styles are not loading
In some cases, depending on the status of your local browser cache and cookies, the styles might not load correctly when logging in after the upgrade. In that case, delete your browser cache and cookies. Then try again.
Updating the password values
It is highly recommended that each user updates his/her password. In order to do so, go to your user profile and select the password tab. Enter your existing password (you don’t have to change it) in both fields and click Update. This will re-encrypt your password with the new algorithm and save it in the database.
