An event can be a scheduled change or an unexpected impairment or outage. Events are impacting the status of a Service. Events are classified by Event Types.
Event Types
The following default event types are available but you can add more if you like.

Hardware Update | A scheduled activitiy for a hardware update |
Impairment | An unexpected impairment event |
Maintenance | A scheduled activity for a maintenance task |
Outage | An unexpected outage event |
Software Update | A scheduled activity for a software update |
Event Schedule
The following date/time values are available for events.

Planned Start | The planned start of a scheduled activitiy |
Planned End | The planned end of a scheduled activitiy |
Actual Start | The actual start of a scheduled activitiy or an unexpected event |
Actual End | The actual end of a scheduled activitiy or an unexpected event |
Event Status
The progress of an event is indicated by a status, very much like in a workflow.

To Do | An activitiy in its planning phase |
Scheduled | An scheduled activitiy with a planned start and end |
In Progress | An ongoing activitiy with an actual start |
Done | A completed activitiy with an actual start and actual end |
Closed | A closed or archived activitiy that will not be shown anymore |
Event Resolution
A completed event always has a result which IzzitUp provides in form of Resolutions.

Event Impact
An Event usually has an impact on one or more Services. The affected Services and the impact can be set for an event.
Imapct | Description |
---|---|
Operational | The service will stay operational during the event. |
Impaired | The service will be impaired during the event. |
Outage | The system will be out during the event. |
Event Comments
IzzitUp allows to add comments to an event. Each comment will be stored with a timestamp and are visible to the public on the home page in chronological order. They can be used to post the current step or progress of an event to the user.
